Five Shot on Skip Day During Gathering of Hundreds at Maryland Park

GREENBELT, MD – A peaceful gathering turned violent at Schrom Hills Park where five young men were shot, as reported by the Greenbelt Police Department. The incident occurred around 3 PM at Schrom Hills Park located at 6900 Hanover Parkway, which had been flooded with approximately 500 young adults celebrating “senior skip day.”

Initially, the gathering, which had moved from Bowie, was under observation by police with no signs of illegal activities.

However, the situation escalated when gunshots were heard. Among the victims were two juveniles and three adults, possibly 18 years old. All five individuals have been hospitalized, though their current conditions remain undisclosed by the authorities.

The police have advised the public to avoid the area.
