Drug and Firearm Charges Lead to Arrests in Dorchester Raid

Two Dorchester men were taken into police custody last Wednesday afternoon on a series of serious charges involving firearms and narcotics. Darnell Gibbs, 27, and Luis Malave, 26, faced arrest by the Drug Control Unit from District C-11 following an extensive drug investigation and subsequent execution of search warrants at 4 Columbia Terrace.

The raid uncovered an array of illicit items, including firearms, drugs, and various drug paraphernalia, alongside a substantial amount of cash. The operation unfolded at approximately 2:18 PM on April 24, 2024.

Found during the search were several weapons, such as a Springfield Armory firearm with an obliterated serial number equipped with a laser sight, and a Girsan Regard MC containing ammunition.

Alongside the firearms, law enforcement confiscated multiple THC cartridges, vaporizers, assorted pills, marijuana, cocaine, ammunition, and an assortment of packaging items used in drug distribution. Additionally, officers seized an electric money counter, a heat sealer, a digital scale, and a ballistic vest, alongside a significant sum of $109,804 in U.S. currency.

Gibbs faced a litany of charges, including possession and trafficking of controlled substances, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, and improper storage of a firearm. On the other hand, Malave was accused of charges related to drug trafficking, possession with intent to distribute controlled substances and unlawful possession of ammunition.
