Woman Intimidated and Forced to Make Bank Card Purchases Near Times Square

MANHATTAN, NY—A distressing incident occurred on Tuesday near the intersection of 42nd Street and 8th Avenue when a 49-year-old woman was coerced by two unidentified individuals into withdrawing money and making purchases under duress.

At approximately 2:15 PM, the victim was approached, physically intimidated, and led to a nearby store where she was forced to buy three items.

After the purchases, the perpetrators, one male and one female, stole the items along with the victim’s wedding ring. The male suspect is described as Hispanic, around 5’6″ tall, with a medium build, wearing a light-colored jacket, black hat, and black sneakers. The female suspect is also Hispanic, about 5’0″ tall, with a medium build, dressed in a dark jacket, black pants, and brown shoes. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek further information.
