D.C. Police Hunt for Van After Early Morning Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C.Police in the Third District are calling for community help to identify a suspect involved in a Northwest Washington shooting early on Monday morning. The violent event unfolded at about 2:30 AM yesterday morning, along the 2000 block of 8th Street.

An adult male victim, who was walking at the time, reported hearing gunshots and later realized he had been injured. He was able to self-transport to a nearby hospital for medical attention. The suspect fled the scene in a dark-colored van with Arkansas license plate “EX68732.”

Authorities have surveillance footage of the suspect and vehicle. They are urging anyone with information to call (202) 727-9099 or text the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411, recommending that individuals should not take any direct action themselves.
