VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) recently arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile on Tuesday and charged him with Second Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony.
The charges are related to an ongoing investigation into a recent fatal shooting.
According to a previous news release from April 6, 2024, Emergency Communications and Citizen Services (ECCS) were alerted about shots fired in the 1200 block of Level Green Blvd. at 10:44 p.m. VBPD officers promptly responded to the scene and discovered Kalani Bailey-Cortez, a 21-year-old male from Norfolk, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
