ABERDEEN, NC — An Aberdeen resident, struck luck with a $20 scratch-off, winning a massive $2 million prize. McLeod purchased his winning 100X The Cash ticket at the Speedway located on N.C. 5 in Aberdeen.
Upon claiming his prize on Tuesday, the winner was presented with two options: an annuity of $100,000 annually for 20 years or a one-time lump sum of $1.2 million. He opted for the lump sum. After deducting the required state and federal taxes, the final take-home amount totaled $858,006.
