Absecon Man Arrested After Residential Burglary Investigation Leads to Recovery of Stolen Property

Police say a 27-year-old Absecon man was arrested after investigators identified him in connection with a residential burglary on Haddon Avenue and recovered stolen property.

Absecon, N.J. – An Absecon man is facing multiple criminal charges after a residential burglary investigation led police to recover stolen property and arrest a suspect who allegedly attempted to flee from officers.

The investigation began Thursday evening after officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Haddon Avenue for a reported burglary at a residence.

According to the Absecon Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 6:47 p.m. Thursday after receiving a report that an unknown individual had forcibly entered a home earlier in the afternoon.

Investigators determined the burglary occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. and that personal property was stolen from inside the residence.

Investigation led to suspect identification

Responding officers immediately launched an investigation, canvassing the neighborhood and reviewing surveillance footage. Police said witnesses also provided statements and video evidence that assisted investigators.

The following morning, the victim provided additional information that directed officers to a nearby location.

“As officers approached the residence and made contact with the occupants, a male suspect fled from the rear of the property on foot,” police said in a statement. “Officers quickly located and detained the individual without incident.”

The suspect was identified as Kenneth D. Davis, 27, of Absecon, who police said is formerly from Louisiana.

Stolen property recovered

During the investigation, officers recovered items reported stolen during the burglary.

Davis was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief and defiant trespass. Following processing, he was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending court proceedings.

The Absecon Police Department credited community members for assisting the investigation.

“The Absecon Police Department would like to thank the residents who provided information and surveillance footage that assisted investigators in quickly identifying and apprehending the suspect,” the department said.
