Four suspects sought in armed Bronx subway robbery spree before dawn
BRONX, NY – Four individuals are being sought in connection with a string of armed robberies that unfolded within hours early Wednesday across the Bronx, targeting subway riders and a pedestrian in three separate incidents.
The first robbery occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. aboard a northbound D train approaching the 182 Street and Grand Concourse station in the 46th Precinct. A 27-year-old man was approached by four unidentified individuals. One suspect grabbed the victim’s phone from his hand. When the victim attempted to recover it, another individual displayed a firearm and pointed it at him.
Roughly 20 minutes later, at about 2:20 a.m., a 16-year-old girl was standing on the southbound D train platform at the Tremont Avenue station, also within the 46th Precinct, when four unidentified individuals approached her. One suspect displayed a knife and demanded her property while another showed a firearm. The suspect with the knife took the victim’s cellphone before boarding a southbound D train.
The third incident occurred at approximately 5:05 a.m. in the vicinity of East 174 Street and Walton Avenue within the 44th Precinct. A 20-year-old man was approached from behind by four individuals who began punching him. During the assault, one suspect removed the victim’s cellphone from his hand. When the victim tried to retrieve it, one of the individuals displayed a firearm.
No arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing.
