- Incident occurred early Sunday on Ocean Drive, leaving two men injured

According to a Miami Beach Police arrest affidavit, officers arrived to find both the defendant, identified as Olajuwon Dickerson, and another man injured. The victim sustained a puncture wound to the abdomen, while Dickerson had a wound to his arm. Both were transported to Jackson Ryder Trauma Center for treatment.
Argument escalates outside vehicle
Investigators said the group, all visiting from out of town, had been socializing at bars along Ocean Drive before tensions grew. Witnesses told police the victim became upset during the night, leading to an argument near a parked GMC Yukon.
“The argument escalated and the defendant approached [the victim], opened the driver door and they continued to argue,” the report states. Moments later, witnesses reported seeing blood as both men were injured during the confrontation.
Police said a witness later handed over a folding knife allegedly given to him by Dickerson following the incident. “Witness MC stated the defendant handed him [a] folding knife covered in blood,” according to the affidavit.
Conflicting accounts in police interviews
The victim told detectives he was stabbed after refusing to exit the vehicle, adding he feared being attacked again and began defending himself. He also stated he had seen the defendant with a knife earlier in the night.
Dickerson, after waiving his rights, told investigators he had been drinking and did not recall the altercation. He also denied possessing a knife or being involved in a fight. Police said the argument began after one of them started hogging up all the girls for himself, agitating the other.
Police said evidence at the scene, including blood inside and outside the vehicle, supported witness accounts. Dickerson was charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and held for a bond hearing.
