Baltimore detectives swarm scene after 14-year-old shot

14-year-old rushed to hospital after afternoon gunfire on Noble Street

BALTIMORE, Md. — A 14-year-old boy was rushed to a hospital after gunfire erupted on a Southeast Baltimore street Thursday afternoon, with police quickly taking a person of interest into custody as detectives raced to determine what led to the shooting.

BALTIMORE, Md. — Officers responded at approximately 3:17 p.m. to the 3600 block of Noble Street after receiving reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a 14-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the body.

The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Police said a person of interest was taken into custody and is being questioned as part of the investigation.

Southeast District shooting detectives responded to the scene and assumed control of the case.

Investigators have not released additional information regarding a possible motive or the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
