Man shot on East Preston Street drives himself to hospital in broad daylight attack
BALTIMORE, MD – A 45-year-old man is recovering after being shot in the middle of the day Friday and driving himself to the hospital, triggering an Eastern District shooting investigation.
Just before 1:30 p.m., officers were alerted by a ShotSpotter notification in the 2300 block of East Preston Street. Not long after, they received a report that a shooting victim had walked into a nearby hospital seeking treatment.
Responding officers found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the body. He told investigators he had been on East Preston Street when an unknown suspect shot him. He then got into his own vehicle and drove to the hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Eastern District shooting detectives responded to the scene and have taken over the investigation. The suspect has not been identified, and no arrests have been made.
