BETHESDA, MD — Two young men and a juvenile have been charged in connection with a violent armed robbery that targeted four juveniles in downtown Bethesda last month, Montgomery County Police announced Friday.

The incident occurred on Monday, April 21, at approximately 10:49 p.m. near the intersection of Woodmont Avenue and Old Georgetown Road. Police say three suspects approached the victims, and one brandished a handgun, demanding money and personal items.

The suspects then allegedly forced the victims at gunpoint to walk toward a nearby ATM to withdraw more cash. The group fled after spotting a Montgomery County Police cruiser approaching the area.

Detectives later identified the suspects as 20-year-old Jason Castello, 20-year-old Nicholas Clarkson, both of Chevy Chase, and a juvenile male from Silver Spring.

Castello and Clarkson were arrested, and police executed a search and seizure warrant at their Chevy Chase residence on April 30, recovering items of evidentiary value. Both are being held without bond and face charges including armed robbery, first-degree assault, and firearm offenses.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the juvenile suspect on the same charges.
