BRICK TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A 42-year-old Brick Township man has pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a handgun in connection with a February 2024 search that uncovered a stolen firearm and ammunition, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced.
Justin Holden entered the plea on June 27 before Superior Court Judge Kenneth T. Palmer. At his sentencing on August 22, prosecutors will seek a five-year prison term in New Jersey State Prison, including a 42-month period of parole ineligibility.
The charges stem from a February 27, 2024, investigation in which Brick Township Police executed search warrants at Holden’s residence on Rocky Mountain Boulevard and on a vehicle he owned. Officers recovered a Glock G43 9mm handgun and hollow point ammunition. The firearm was later confirmed to have been reported stolen in Georgia.

Holden was charged and entered into the National Crime Information Center Database following the seizure. He was arrested on March 11, 2024, and initially released under New Jersey Bail Reform guidelines.
He is currently being held in the Ocean County Jail on separate charges related to a domestic violence case. Charges in that case include aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, attempted bodily injury, and false imprisonment.
Holden remains in custody pending resolution of both matters.
