Brooklyn man charged after body found outside East 21st Street home

BROOKLYN, NY – A Brooklyn man has been arrested and charged after police discovered a deceased man with trauma to his body outside a Midwood residence.

The arrest comes two days after the grisly discovery that drew a large police response to East 21st Street.

Authorities say the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Christopher Moss of 557 East 21st Street, was taken into custody Sunday afternoon in connection with the ongoing investigation.

Body discovered during 911 call in Midwood

The investigation began Friday around 9:14 a.m. when officers from the 70th Precinct responded to a 911 call reporting an aided person outside the East 21st Street home. Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious, unresponsive man showing signs of bodily trauma. Emergency medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Suspect charged as investigation continues

Following the discovery, detectives launched an intensive inquiry that led to Moss’s arrest at 2:50 p.m. Sunday. Police have not released details on the relationship between the suspect and the victim or the events leading up to the death.

The Office of Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death. Officials said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
