Camden County Wawa sells $746K lottery ticket

LINDENWOLD, N.J. — A Camden County player claimed a Jersey Cash 5 jackpot of $746,853 on Thursday, marking the New Jersey Lottery game’s second consecutive Thursday jackpot and its 33rd top prize won this year.

Lottery officials said the winning ticket was purchased at Wawa #973, located at 421 Whitehorse Pike South in Lindenwold. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The winning numbers drawn were 08, 17, 19, 22 and 36, with an XTRA of 02 and a Bullseye of 19. Thirty-five players matched four out of five numbers plus the Bullseye to win $500 each, while 10 additional players matched four out of five numbers, the Bullseye and the XTRA to also win $500 apiece.

The Jersey Cash 5 jackpot has now reset to its base amount of $150,000 for Friday night’s drawing. “The jackpot has reset to its base of $150,000 ahead of tonight’s drawing,” lottery officials confirmed.

Past jackpot echoes in Lindenwold

Lindenwold, a borough of roughly 21,000 residents, has developed a reputation among lottery enthusiasts. Just over a year ago, on June 10, 2024, a Powerball jackpot of $221 million was won at Preet Food Mart in the same borough.

Lindenwold’s lucky streak continues to draw attention across the state, with multiple large prizes landing in the community in less than 13 months.

Lottery officials have not released the identity of the latest winner, who has one year from the draw date to claim the prize.
