Cambridge man and Centreville woman cited for drug possession
CAMBRIDGE, MD – A Saturday night narcotics investigation led to the arrest of two individuals after police discovered suspected cocaine, heroin, and drug paraphernalia inside a vehicle on Bunker Street.
At approximately 10:03 p.m. on January 6, Cambridge Police responded to the 300 block of Bunker Street following a report of possible Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) activity in the area. Officers were given a description of a vehicle allegedly involved in the violations.
Upon locating the vehicle, officers made contact with two occupants, later identified as Whitney Nicole Gross, 33, of Centreville, and James Cecil McCoy Jr., 47, of Cambridge.
While speaking with the occupants, officers observed CDS paraphernalia in plain view. After Gross and McCoy exited the vehicle, a further search revealed additional drug-related items. Officers recovered suspected cocaine and a plastic bag containing an unidentified substance, which has been submitted for further analysis. A personal search of McCoy also turned up heroin in his possession.
Both Gross and McCoy were placed under arrest at the scene. They were later issued criminal citations and released.
Both individuals were charged with:
- CDS Possession Not Cannabis
- CDS Possession of Paraphernalia
The investigation remains open pending lab results on the unidentified substance.
