Six years later police renew hunt for suspect in I 78 attempted murder shooting

Greenwich Township, NJ — A shooting on a New Jersey highway that left a woman seriously injured remains unsolved six years later, as investigators renew their call for the public’s help in identifying the gunman.

The incident occurred March 31, 2020, at approximately 5:57 a.m. on Interstate 78 eastbound near Exit 6 in Greenwich Township, according to New Jersey State Police.

Investigators said a 45-year-old woman from Easton, Pennsylvania, was driving eastbound when another vehicle overtook her. The suspect then exited his vehicle and fired multiple rounds at her, causing significant injuries.

After the shooting, the suspect returned to his vehicle and fled the scene, continuing into Greenwich Township.

Authorities described the suspect as a white male with longer hair, of medium height and build, wearing dark clothing at the time. He was believed to be driving a newer model, full-sized dark-colored sedan.
