Arrest made months after downtown Frederick stabbing left victim injured

Frederick, MD — A months-long investigation into a downtown stabbing has led to the arrest of a Maryland man, as police say evidence and surveillance footage helped identify the suspect.

The incident dates back to November 13, when a victim arrived at a local hospital with stab wounds after leaving the scene. The individual was conscious and later cooperated with investigators.

Detectives with the Frederick Police Department identified Kyle Alonzo Eccleston, 32, of Hagerstown, as the suspect following an investigation that included witness interviews, evidence collection, and review of surveillance video from the downtown area.

Authorities executed an arrest warrant on March 17. Eccleston has been charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.

Officials have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the stabbing.
