Connecticut Karen Points Gun at Kids Playing Football in Newark Hotel Parking Lot

NEWARK, DE – A Connecticut woman was arrested Friday night after police said she pointed a firearm at three juveniles playing football outside a Newark hotel.

Delaware State Police identified the suspect as 50-year-old Rachel Dinorscia of Connecticut.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the Hilton on Continental Drive.

According to investigators, the juveniles were playing in the lot when Dinorscia, sitting inside a paratransit van, allegedly pointed a rifle at them. The juveniles fled and were not injured.

Police recover multiple firearms from vehicle

Troopers located the van a short distance away and took Dinorscia into custody without incident.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a long rifle believed to have been used in the incident, along with another rifle and two handguns.

Police said no shots were fired and no one was harmed.

Charges and bond

Dinorscia was taken to Troop 6, where she was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, three counts of aggravated menacing, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.

She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $23,500 secured bond.

Authorities said the juveniles involved in the incident were unharmed and the investigation remains ongoing.
