Cumberland Woman Charged With Burglary, Westernport Man Jailed in Separate Cumberland Incidents

Cumberland police arrested two individuals in unrelated investigations involving an alleged unlawful entry into a home and the destruction of property.

CUMBERLAND, Md. — Cumberland Police made two arrests on June 17 in separate incidents involving burglary and property damage, according to the department.

One case stemmed from a disturbance call on Decatur Street, while the other involved allegations of vehicle damage and a violation of a court order on Utah Avenue.

Woman accused of entering home without permission

Officers responded to the 100 block of Decatur Street after receiving a report of a disturbance.

Following an investigation, police determined that Sarah Elizabeth Harmon, 40, of Cumberland, had allegedly entered a residence without permission.

Harmon was arrested and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center for an initial appearance and bond hearing.

Court officials later released her on her own recognizance.

She is charged with fourth-degree burglary.

Man accused of damaging vehicle tire

In a separate incident, officers responded to the 200 block of Utah Avenue for another reported disturbance.

Investigators determined that Cayden Louis Zona, 21, of Westernport, allegedly punctured a vehicle tire, causing damage.

Police also determined that Zona was in violation of an active court order at the time of the incident.

Held without bond

Zona was arrested and taken before a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing.

Following the hearing, he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

He faces charges of failure to comply with a peace order and malicious destruction of property.

Both cases remain pending in court.
