Delaware State Police Thwart Vehicle Theft Attempt by Maryland Man

March 3, 2024

GEORGETOWN, DE – The Delaware State Police have successfully apprehended 18-year-old Dragco Wiggins of Aberdeen, Maryland, following his attempt to steal a Chrysler minivan in Georgetown. The incident occurred on the evening of March 1, when police were summoned to a residence on the 21000 block of Zoar Road.

Responding to the scene at approximately 8:40 p.m., troopers encountered both Wiggins and the vehicle’s owner in the driveway. The investigation revealed that the owner had come outside after hearing the horn of her minivan, only to find Wiggins seated inside. It was discovered that Wiggins had stolen cash from the vehicle’s center console and caused damage to the multi-selector switch, an act reflecting a pattern seen in vehicle thefts across the country. Wiggins was arrested without further incident.
