NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Police Department are asking for information that can lead them to the whereabouts of two people wanted for a shooting on West Kinney Street this past fall.
Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara requests the public’s help in locating Lamont Purnell, 34, and Joy Farrell, 35, both wanted for questioning in connection with the investigation of a shooting that occurred on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
Just after 6:10 p.m., police responded to a residence in the area of Irvine Turner Boulevard near West Kinney Street following a ShotSpotter notification. Detectives observed property damage to a residence in the area due to a shooting.

As part of their investigation, police are seeking to question Purnell and Farrell regarding this incident. Purnell is described as 5’5” tall and 200 pounds. He has a bald head and brown eyes. Farrell is described as 5’9” tall and 220 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
