Dog thrown from moving truck in Dover sparks police search for driver

Dover, PA — A witness report of a dog being thrown from a moving vehicle has prompted an investigation in York County, with police now seeking help identifying the driver involved.

The incident occurred around 1:28 p.m. April 26 on the first block of North Main Street in Dover Borough, according to the Northern York County Regional Police Department.

A witness told officers they saw a white male driving a black Chevrolet pickup slow down, throw a dog from the vehicle, and continue northbound.

The witness retrieved the dog, described as a light-colored, medium-sized female, and contacted 911.

Officers said the dog appeared malnourished and injured and was transported to the SPCA for treatment. The animal was not microchipped and had no identification tags. The SPCA has since named the dog “Goldie.”
