Fatal two-vehicle collision remains under investigation
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A late-night two-vehicle crash at a busy Wall Township intersection left one driver dead and prompted an active investigation involving local and county authorities.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:55 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of State Highway 138 and New Bedford Road.
Wall Township police officers responded to reports of the collision and found that one of the drivers had suffered fatal injuries. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials have not released the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation is being conducted by the Wall Township Police Department, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART).
Authorities have not released information about what caused the crash or whether anyone else was injured.
