Brooklyn, NY – A 78-year-old woman was attacked aboard an MTA bus in Gravesend Friday afternoon, leaving her hospitalized with facial injuries, police said.
The assault happened around 2:40 p.m. on a northbound B1 bus stopped in front of 2837 86th Street. Investigators said the victim got into a verbal dispute with an unidentified woman, who then struck her in the face.
The victim suffered pain and swelling to her face and right eye. EMS transported her to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where she was listed in stable condition.
The assailant fled the bus on foot in an unknown direction. Police described her as a female last seen wearing a red bonnet, a white shirt, and blue jeans.
No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
