Police issue warning after edibles disguised as animal crackers found at school

EVESHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ – A bag of marijuana-laced edible animal crackers was found at Sequoia High School by Evesham Township police.

Despite the fact that the bag was labeled “Animal Cookies,” the cookie bag contained 600 milligrams of marijuana baked into the snacks.

The department is advising parents to check their child’s belongings. Legally packaged marijuana-infused products are clearly labeled with a cannabis logo and a gram amount of marijuana per serving.

“Every marijuana-infused item will have a label on it, along with a gram amount. If you see these two symbols on a snack bag, it could be marijuana-infused edibles,” the department said.

Police say the packaging is meant to disguise the marijuana-laced products in an effort to mislead consumers.
