Fatal Pedestrian Accident Under Investigation in Northwest

WASHINGTON, DC – D.C. Metro Police Department is investigating a fatal accident involving a pedestrian that occurred early Thursday in Northwest. Heidy Rocio Lovo Marquez, 31, from Takoma Park, MD, was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing the street at the 7500 block of 16th Street around 2:56 AM.

The driver of the northbound vehicle that hit Marquez remained at the scene. Authorities pronounced Marquez dead at the location. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or send a text to the TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
