Fatal Shooting in Northeast DC Leaves One Man Dead

NORTHEAST, DC – A tragic shooting incident has prompted a homicide investigation after an adult male was found dead on October 7.

At approximately 8:44 p.m., officers from the Fifth District responded to reports of a shooting in the 100 block of T Street, Northeast. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the intervention of DC Fire and EMS personnel, all lifesaving measures failed, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Taquan Turner of Alexandria, VA.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to call police at (202) 727-9099 or text their tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for homicides in the District of Columbia.
