TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Toms River Township will kick off its annual summer concert series Tuesday night with a performance by Tupelo Honey, a Van Morrison tribute band, followed by a fireworks display at Shelter Cove Beach.
Mayor Rodrick and the Toms River Recreation Department present Tupelo Honey as the kick off to the summer concert series on Tuesday, July 1st, 7pm at Shelter Cove Beach.
The event begins at 7 p.m. and is open to the public. Attendees are invited to bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the music and fireworks along the beach. Boaters can anchor in the Cove to listen from the water.
Tupelo Honey will perform classics from Van Morrison’s catalog, including hits like “Moondance” and “Brown Eyed Girl.” The performance is part of a series organized by Mayor Dan Rodrick and the Toms River Recreation Department.
Parking will be available at Shelter Cove and at an auxiliary lot at Toms River High School East, with shuttle service provided. Food and ice cream trucks will be on-site, but pets are not permitted at the event.
The fireworks will follow the concert, lighting up the night over Barnegat Bay. The event is free and open to all ages.
