JACKSON, NJ — Charlie, a one-year-old brindle pup with a big personality and a bigger heart, is looking for a forever home after arriving at the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility.

Described as a “chicken nugget” with just the right mix of sweetness and sass, Charlie came into the shelter system after being passed from home to home. Now, she’s thriving and ready for a fresh start with a stable, loving family.

Charlie has passed her behavior assessments and shows no signs of resource guarding. Shelter staff say she enjoys yard zoomies, sunbathing in a frog-leg pose, and soaking up affection from everyone she meets.

Though friendly with people and not reactive to other dogs, Charlie would do best as the only pet in the home. She’s recommended for families with children 10 and older due to her youthful energy and developing manners.

Northern Ocean County Animal Facility offers daily adoptions

Charlie is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Potential adopters can meet her daily from 1 to 4 p.m. at the shelter located at 615 Freemont Ave. in Jackson.
