$1 million-winning scratch-off ticket sold in Delaware County

Upper Darby, PA – A Pennsylvania Lottery player is now a millionaire after purchasing a winning $1 Million Moneybag Crossword Scratch-Off ticket at a gas station in Delaware County, lottery officials announced Monday.

The $20 scratch-off ticket, which carries a top prize of $1 million, was sold at Exxon located at 6898 Marshall Road in Upper Darby Township. The retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The identity of the winner has not been disclosed, as prizes must be claimed and tickets validated before any information is released. Scratch-Off prizes must be claimed within one year of the game’s official end-sale date, which is posted on the Pennsylvania Lottery’s website.

The $1 Million Moneybag Crossword game is one of the Lottery’s higher-priced scratch-off options and offers multiple prize levels, with the top prize set at $1 million. All scratch-off tickets are distributed randomly, and the Lottery is not aware of where winning tickets will be sold until prizes are claimed.

Players are urged to sign the back of their winning tickets immediately and contact the Lottery at 1-800-692-7481 for next steps.

The Pennsylvania Lottery is reminding players that it is taking part in the Gift Responsibly Campaign, which promotes awareness that Lottery products are not appropriate gifts for children.
