GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A quick decision and a little luck led to a $50,000 Lottery win for a Glen Burnie woman, thanks to her friend’s choice of a pink-themed scratch-off ticket.

The winning moment came after the pair stopped at the 7-Eleven on Ritchie Highway. The friend, a fan of Lottery games, bought a single $20 Millionaire’s Club ticket, drawn to its bright pink color. In their car, they scratched off the ticket and discovered a matching number in the second row, revealing the game’s $50,000 second-tier prize.

The winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, secured the ticket in a safe until claiming the prize this week at Lottery headquarters. She is still considering how to use her winnings, keeping news of the big win quiet among friends and family.

This is the first of six $50,000 prizes claimed in the Millionaire’s Club game. The scratch-off still boasts three $1 million top prizes and numerous smaller prizes ranging from $20 to $10,000.
