Grandma inspiration leads to $25K lottery hit in Ohio

New lottery player hits $25K Pick 5 win after trying grandma luck

Lyndhurst, OH — A new lottery player inspired by her grandmother’s longtime wins struck for $25,834 after picking a set of numbers that hit in a recent Ohio Pick 5 drawing.

The player, known as LeLe, had only recently started playing draw games and placed several $0.50 bets for the March 26 midday and evening drawings.

Her numbers — 7-1-1-8-8 — came in straight, earning her a $25,000 prize. She also secured an additional $834 from a 30-way box win, bringing the total to $25,834.

She learned of the win when a friend contacted her after the numbers were drawn.

After required taxes, she will receive $18,923.40.

The winning ticket was purchased at Heights Beverage on Cedar Avenue in University Heights.

LeLe said she plans to use the money for home updates, including renovating her toddler’s bedroom, and may upgrade her vehicle when her lease ends.

Pick 5 drawings are held daily in Ohio, offering players multiple chances to win each day.
