Group assaults, robs man outside Takoma Park apartment, leaving him unconscious

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Takoma Park police are searching for five suspects accused of assaulting and robbing a man outside his apartment early Tuesday morning, leaving him unconscious.

The incident unfolded around 4 a.m. on November 5 in the 700 block of Ethan Allen Avenue. According to police, the victim had parked his car and was walking toward his apartment building when he encountered a group of young males sitting on the front steps. The group demanded his car keys, but the man refused.

Police say the suspects then attacked him, striking him repeatedly before taking the keys from his pocket. The group fled the scene in the victim’s car, leaving him injured on the ground.

The victim’s partner, who heard the commotion, rushed outside to find him lying unconscious but breathing. He was transported to the hospital with bruises and abrasions, and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Takoma Park police are continuing to investigate and are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
