Hot Meals, Clean Water, Debris Removal Services Offered in Henderson County

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. — Henderson County officials released key updates Wednesday evening as recovery efforts continue following the impact of Tropical Storm Helene. The county remains under a State of Emergency, with a curfew in place from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. for the entire county.

Resource Hubs:
Starting Thursday, October 3, at 9:00 a.m., six Resource Hub locations will be open for water distribution and other supplies as they become available:

  • Etowah Elementary: 320 Etowah School Road, Etowah, NC
  • Rugby Middle: 3345 Haywood Rd, Hendersonville, NC
  • East Henderson High: 150 Eagle Pride Dr, East Flat Rock, NC
  • North Henderson High: 35 Fruitland Rd, Hendersonville, NC
  • Mills River Town Hall: 124 Town Center Drive, Mills River, NC
  • Fletcher Town Hall: 300 Old Cane Creek Rd, Fletcher, NC

Free hot meals:
To-go meals will be available twice daily, around noon and 5 p.m., at four of the Resource Hubs on a first-come, first-served basis:

  • Etowah Elementary
  • East Henderson High
  • North Henderson High
  • Mills River Town Hall

Storm debris removal:
Henderson County will provide curbside storm debris removal as a free service for residents. Storm debris, including tree branches, building materials, and household items, should be placed along the right of way for pickup. Residents are asked to separate debris into categories to expedite the removal process.

Donation drop-off:
A donation site is open at 118 McAbee Court, Flat Rock, NC, accepting non-perishable food items, bottled water, toiletries, and baby formula. A call center has been set up for non-medical requests and general information at 828-771-6670 or via email at Helene-info@hcem.org. For emergencies, residents should continue to call 911.
