Howell teen leukemia survivor hosts blood drive with support from local police

The Howell Township Police Department showed support at a community event led by 14-year-old leukemia survivor Riley Risden, who organized a mobile blood drive as part of her Girl Scouts Silver Award project.

Held at the Southard Fire Department, the event focused on raising awareness for childhood cancer and collecting donations for charitable organizations. Risden, a Howell resident, survived leukemia and used her experience to give back through the initiative.

“Today we came out to the Southard FD to support a remarkable young lady and local Howell resident, Riley Risden,” the Howell Police Department posted.

The department joined community members in backing Risden’s efforts, recognizing her contributions to both health advocacy and community service.
