JACKSON, N.J. — Shelter staff and volunteers at the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility are calling for help as Rayna, a 3½-year-old surrendered dog, continues to wait for her forever home.
Described as a well-behaved, leash-trained, and affectionate pup, Rayna was brought to the shelter with two other dogs after being given up by her previous owner. Despite her temperament and readiness for adoption, she remains unclaimed.
Rayna has a gray coat, is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines. According to the shelter, she passed all behavior assessments and enjoys walking trails and calm environments. She would do best as an only pet in a home with older children.
While she previously lived with other dogs, Rayna is more comfortable being the sole dog in a household and appears uncertain around cats. A slow introduction would be required if adopted into a home with other animals.
Rayna is available for immediate adoption or transfer to any licensed 501(c)(3) rescue group. She is housed at Northern Ocean County Animal Facility, 615 Freemont Avenue, Jackson. The shelter is open daily from 1 to 4 p.m.
