Security guard fatally shot during dispute inside Northrop Grumman facility in Linthicum

Linthicum, MD – A workplace shooting between two contracted security guards inside a Northrop Grumman facility ended in tragedy Tuesday afternoon when one guard was fatally shot during an argument, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

The shooting occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the company’s location in the 7300 block of Aviation Boulevard. Police said the confrontation unfolded between two private security contractors working at the site. During the dispute, one of the guards pulled out a firearm and shot the other.

The victim, identified as 37-year-old Joseph Keith Aman of Baltimore, died at the scene from his injuries. A third contracted security guard quickly intervened, disarmed the shooter, and detained him until Maryland Transportation Authority Police arrived and took him into custody.

The suspected shooter has been identified as 26-year-old Dylan Blake Chandler of Pasadena. He has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, among other related charges.

Police emphasized that the incident was isolated to the security staff and did not involve any Northrop Grumman employees. The Anne Arundel County Police Homicide Unit is continuing its investigation, and authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
