Newburgh player wins $1,000 a day for life on CASH4LIFE ticket
Newburgh, NY – One lucky lottery player who stopped at a local smoke shop in Newburgh just became a millionaire for life after hitting the top prize in the December 9 CASH4LIFE drawing, officials announced Wednesday.
The winning ticket, worth $1,000 a day for life—or a guaranteed minimum payout of $7 million—was sold at Smokes 4 Less located at 59 North Plank Road. The winner has not yet come forward to claim the life-changing prize.
CASH4LIFE is a daily draw game where players pick five numbers from a field of one to 60, plus a Cash Ball from a separate set of one to four. To win the top prize, players must match all five numbers and the Cash Ball.
The drawing took place Tuesday night at approximately 9 p.m. This win marks one of the game’s highest possible outcomes, granting the winner a steady stream of $365,000 a year, every year, for the rest of their life—or the option to take a lump sum payment.
Lottery prizes in New York must be claimed within one year of the drawing date. The identity of the winner remains unknown as of Wednesday.
The New York Lottery reported that it contributed $3.6 billion to public education during the last fiscal year, maintaining its position as North America’s largest and most profitable lottery.
