$100K Powerball ticket sold at Connecticut wine shop
Naugatuck, CT – A Connecticut Powerball player just scored a six-figure payday after purchasing a winning ticket worth $100,000 at a popular local liquor store, state lottery officials confirmed.
The ticket, sold on Tuesday at House of Wine & More in Naugatuck, matched enough numbers in the December 9 Powerball drawing to secure a $50,000 prize—doubled to $100,000 thanks to the optional Power Play feature.
The lucky buyer has not yet been identified publicly, and has one year from the draw date to claim the winnings.
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. EST. The winning ticket was sold in the Stratford area and validated through the Connecticut Lottery system the same day.
It was not the jackpot-winning ticket, but the combination of matched numbers and the Power Play multiplier pushed the prize into six-digit territory.
