Double shooting in Southwest Baltimore sparks homicide investigation after two victims die at hospitals
BALTIMORE, Md. — A man and woman were fatally shot behind a West Baltimore block early Friday morning, leaving homicide detectives searching for answers after both victims died from their injuries at area hospitals.
Southwest District patrol officers responded around 12:49 a.m. Friday to the rear of the 1800 block of West Lexington Street for reports of a shooting, according to Baltimore Police.
When officers arrived, they found a 22-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Medics transported both victims to nearby hospitals for treatment, but police said both later died from their injuries.

Investigators have not released the identities of the victims, and no suspect information was immediately available Friday morning.
