Washington, D.C. — A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that left a woman injured last month in Southeast D.C., following a tip received by officers late Friday night.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 22, at approximately 3:00 p.m. in the 3300 block of 10th Place SE. When officers from the Seventh District arrived on the scene, they found an adult woman suffering from stab wounds. DC Fire and EMS transported her to a local hospital, where she was treated for injuries that were later deemed non-life-threatening.
The suspect, identified as Roshawn Petway of Southeast, D.C., was arrested on Friday, May 2, after officers were flagged down and provided with information that led to his identification. He was taken into custody and charged with Assault With a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) and Aggravated Assault.
Officials did not specify the relationship between the suspect and the victim, nor did they release details about the motive behind the attack.
The location of the stabbing is in a residential area near several apartment buildings and public transit lines in Southeast D.C., where officers continue to respond to reports of violent incidents involving edged weapons.

Petway remains in custody as the case moves forward. Authorities have not released further information about potential additional charges or court proceedings.
