Man attacked with baseball bat in Bronx subway station, NYPD says

BRONX, N.Y. – Police are searching for a man who brutally attacked another commuter with a baseball bat inside a Bronx subway station Thursday evening, leaving the victim with facial injuries, according to investigators.

The assault occurred around 5:45 p.m. inside the Kingsbridge Road station. Authorities said a 40-year-old man was approached by an unidentified individual who struck him multiple times in the face with a baseball bat before fleeing the scene.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the station and surrounding areas as they work to identify the suspect.

Transit officers have increased patrols in the area while the investigation continues. Police are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to reach out confidentially.
