Herminie man breaks into home, threatens woman with knife, then flees police in wild Mount Pleasant foot chase

Mount Pleasant, PA – A manhunt unfolded through the streets of Mount Pleasant on Sunday after police say a Herminie man broke into a residence, threatened a woman with a knife, and then bolted from officers in a foot chase that ended with a surrender behind a barbed-wire fence.

Daniel Sebulsky, 41, was arrested on February 1 and is facing charges of burglary, terroristic threats, and flight to avoid apprehension after police say he forced his way into a home on Frick Avenue and threatened a woman inside before fleeing.

The woman’s son reportedly chased Sebulsky toward Diamond Street and flagged down officers when they arrived. Police say Sebulsky ignored commands to stop and ran through the borough, prompting Mount Pleasant Police to request backup from Scottdale Police and a Park Police K-9 unit.

Sebulsky continued fleeing until officers and the K-9 surrounded him in a fenced-in area. He attempted to leap over barbed wire in a last-ditch effort to escape, but was trapped and eventually surrendered.

He was remanded to the Westmoreland County Prison after failing to post $250,000 bail.
