Man charged after alleged stalking leads to assault at Greensburg hospital

Police say a former partner trespassed into a restricted area and became combative with security staff

Greensburg, PA — A hospital employee who reported being stalked by a former partner saw the situation escalate into a physical confrontation, leading to the arrest of an Allegheny County man at Independence Hospital in Greensburg, police said.

Christopher Nagy, of Glenshaw, was taken into custody April 14, 2026, after allegedly entering hospital property and attempting to confront his ex-girlfriend, according to the Greensburg Police Department.

Alleged stalking leads to hospital incident

Police said officers were called to the medical commons building along South Washington Avenue on April 13 for a reported physical altercation involving hospital security and a man later identified as Nagy.

When officers arrived, they found two hospital security staff members attempting to restrain him. Investigators determined Nagy had entered the hospital grounds to try to contact his former girlfriend, who works at the facility.

According to police, Nagy attempted to access a secure door and told staff he was there to speak with his fiancé. Employees intervened and told him to leave before he could move further into a restricted area.

Confrontation escalates with security

Hospital employees activated a panic alarm to alert security as the situation intensified, authorities said.

Police allege Nagy became combative during the encounter, attempting to hit and bite security personnel as they tried to detain him. The altercation prompted the police response that led to his arrest.

Investigators also spoke with the alleged victim, who told officers the relationship with Nagy had ended about two years ago. She reported no contact with him until recent days, when he allegedly began stalking her both at her workplace and at her parents’ residence.
