JERSEY CITY, NJ – A 47-year-old man has been charged in connection with a sexual assault and home invasion in Jersey City as announced by Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez. These incidents reportedly occurred on Sunday, January 5, and charges were filed on Thursday, January 9.

Jermaine Adams faces several charges including Aggravated Sexual Assault, Home Invasion Burglary, Aggravated Assault, and Aggravated Arson. He also faces charges of Terroristic Threats and Criminal Restraint. At the time of charging, Adams was already detained at Hudson County Correctional Facility on an unrelated matter.

The investigation, which was conducted by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and Jersey City Police Department, was aided by the new in-house DNA laboratory. This facility played a crucial role in expediting the case.

The incident was reported shortly before 7 p.m. on January 5, when Jersey City Police responded to a home invasion on McAdoo Avenue. The female victim was found with injuries sustained after being assaulted and was treated at a local hospital.
