Man Found Dead with Multiple Stab Wounds, Woman Critically Injured in South River Investigation

Authorities are investigating a violent incident in South River after a man was found dead and a woman was hospitalized in critical condition at a Kamm Avenue residence.

Police and prosecutors are investigating a death after officers responding to a reported disturbance discovered an unresponsive man with multiple stab wounds and a critically injured woman inside a South River home.

The incident unfolded at approximately 10:01 a.m. Wednesday when the South River Police Department received a 911 call reporting a disturbance at a residence on Kamm Avenue.

Man pronounced dead at scene

Responding officers arrived at the home and found a woman and an unresponsive male inside the residence.

According to authorities, the man had sustained multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The investigation is active and continuing but there is no threat to the public,” the South River Police Department said in a statement.

Woman hospitalized in critical condition

The woman found at the residence was transported to a hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

Officials have not released the identities of either individual, and investigators have not disclosed the circumstances that led to the stabbing.

Authorities have also not announced any arrests or criminal charges in connection with the case.

Detectives seeking information

The investigation is being conducted by the South River Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
