Man Found Dead, Woman Critically Injured in South River Stabbing Investigation

A man was found dead and a woman was hospitalized in critical condition after authorities responded to a reported disturbance Thursday morning in South River, officials said.

Middlesex County prosecutors and South River police are investigating a fatal stabbing that left one person dead and another seriously injured at a residence on Kamm Avenue.

According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Linda Estremera and South River Police Chief Mark Tinitigan, officers were dispatched to the home at approximately 10:01 a.m. Thursday after receiving a 911 call reporting a disturbance.

Victims Found Inside Residence

When officers arrived, they discovered an unresponsive man suffering from multiple stab wounds, authorities said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators also located a woman at the residence. She was transported to a hospital in critical condition for treatment.

Investigation Remains Active

Officials have not released the identities of either individual, and details surrounding what led to the incident have not been disclosed.

Despite the violent nature of the incident, investigators said there is no known threat to the public.
