Huntingdon man sentenced to up to 20 years in prison for sexual assault of minor

GREENSBURG, PA – A Huntingdon County man has been sentenced to 10 to 20 years in state prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges related to the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in Latrobe, according to the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office.

Randy Shipley, 40, was sentenced by Judge Timothy Krieger following an investigation by Latrobe Police that began in 2024. Authorities said Shipley provided alcohol to the minor before sexually assaulting her at an apartment in Latrobe.

Evidence submitted during the investigation, including clothing collected from the victim, contained DNA that matched Shipley. He later pleaded guilty to rape by forcible compulsion, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, and corruption of minors.

Shipley is currently being held at a state correctional facility in Forest County, where he is also awaiting the outcome of a parole violation in an unrelated Jefferson County case.

District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli credited Assistant District Attorney Leo Ciaramitaro and Latrobe Police for their work in bringing the case to resolution and securing justice for the victim.
