Manhunt  Underway for Couple Who Attacked Ocean City Cops

Authorities are asking for assistance identifying a man and woman accused of assaulting an Ocean City police officer during an attempted arrest near 10th Street and Wilmington Lane.

Ocean City, Md. – Ocean City police are searching for two suspects who allegedly assaulted an officer Friday evening while officers attempted to arrest a man for an alcohol-related violation.

According to the Ocean City Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 7:03 p.m. in the area of 10th Street and Wilmington Lane.

Officers were attempting to take the male suspect into custody when he allegedly resisted arrest, according to police. During the confrontation, investigators said a female companion became involved and assaulted the officer.

“Officers attempted to arrest the male suspect for an alcohol violation,” the Ocean City Police Department said in a statement. “During the arrest, the male suspect resisted arrest, and the female suspect began assaulting the officer in an attempt to intervene.”

Police said the struggle caused the male suspect’s white T-shirt to be ripped off, revealing a blue tank top underneath.

Suspects fled south from downtown area

According to investigators, both suspects fled south from the area immediately following the altercation.

The male suspect is described as a light-skinned man with short dark hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing black Nike shorts, a blue tank top and no shoes.

The female suspect is described as a light-skinned woman with long hair, a belly button ring and a tattoo on her left midsection or rib area. She was last seen wearing light-colored pants, a light-colored cropped top and pink Crocs.

Police asking for public assistance

The Ocean City Police Department is asking anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information about the incident to contact Officer Barrett at 410-723-6610 or by email at rbarrett@oceancitymd.gov.

Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling 410-520-5136, online, or by emailing crimetips@oceancitymd.gov. Police are asking tipsters to reference case number 2026-00-1374.

“If you know these individuals or have any information regarding this incident, please contact Officer Barrett,” the department said.
